Life101: LIFE HAS NO RESET BUTTON
Wouldn’t it be awesome if our lives had reset buttons that we could press any time? No more mistakes and unwanted circumstances? Sounds tempting indeed, but I don‘t think it‘s a good idea.
One day, I suddenly woke up feeling like I‘ve wasted the past 20 years of my life. I even kind of walked away from it all only to find myself crashing back because it was the only thing I knew, or at least I thought I knew. The real problem was I didn‘t know who I was until I became totally shattered, and I had no choice but to clean up the mess and pick up the pieces myself. No parent, lover, or friend to the rescue. Messing up taught me a great deal about appreciating life better. The thing is, if we could restart our lives whenever we wished, then no one would ever learn through their mistakes. No one will understand how life works. Period.
Getting a do-over in life is a rare chance, so if fate decides to throw you a huge favor, catch it and make the most out of it. And if things aren‘t going pretty well, just remember that there are certain things you can control like your health, the way you perceive things, the people you hang out with, your habits, even the food you put in your body. The smallest gestures can make a huge difference. It‘s all about accumulating as much positive energy in your life, and if you believe you deserve good things then good things will happen to you.

EasyPeasy Recipe: T&GB Salad

Yep, that’s tuna and Green Bean Salad. ;)
I am not a fan of vegetables, but this salad is amazing. It’s quick and easy to do, plus it’ll help ease you into loving healthy food.
Prep:
WASH vegetables. SCRUB your potatoes thoroughly. PREPARE a medium-size pot, and FILL with water til mid-point. MINCE garlic. SLICE tomatoes into half circles (or dice ‘em, whatever you want to do really).
Place POT over medium heat. Wait for WATER to reach boiling point, then ADD GREEN BEANS. Leave for a few minutes. I leave mine for 3, or when it‘s tender enough. PLEASE DON‘T OVERCOOK. When green beans are done, transfer them to a bowl filled with ICE WATER. Shocking the beans will keep it crunchy, and will stop it from cooking. BOIL the potatoes next, using the same pot of water.
While waiting for the potatoes, you can start making your dressing. COMBINE lemon juice and olive oil (2:1 ratio), add garlic, a dash of salt and freshly ground pepper. WHISK AWAY. Check on potatoes. If cooked enough, transfer to ICE WATER too. Cut green beans in half, diagonally.
Once all the cooking is done, PLATE YOUR SALAD, AND TOSS WITH SOME DRESSING.
Happy Cooking!
